Funeral Collections on your website

As well as having a tribute fund scheme available on your website, you can also help your supporters to easily collect donations at a funeral service.

Increasingly families want to avoid cash and cheque collections at funerals, instead focusing on online donations at memorial services. With MuchLoved you can offer them a separate 'funeral donations' page, alongside your main tribute fund pages. Our widget makes it quick and easy for you to do this via your website, and makes it simple for your supporters to use too.

With our Funeral Collections Widget, your supporters can add not only information about their loved one and how to make donations, but also add the practical details of the funeral, including the date, time and location of the funeral along with a Google Map.

Family and friends can view this page for the funeral arrangements, and can donate online. This means that even those family members that cannot attend can still make a donation. All of these donations can be seen in the Reporting area of your MuchLoved Partner Area.

Top tips:

Create a new website page. Keep funeral donations on a separate page from your in-memory fundraising pages. Whilst they're obviously similar, the motivation for creating a funeral page is different, and your supporters have different practical needs that you can help solve. You can signpost from the funeral donation page to your tribute funds, but keeping them distinct is easier for your supporters.

Make it easy to find. What happens when you search for 'funeral' on your charity's website? Or when you search for 'funeral' and your charity's name in Google? Make it easy for your supporters to find the information they want by using keywords in the header of the page, to increase your search results.

Keep your supporters in mind. Test what your supporters will see, and make the language clear and easy to understand, but still personal to your charity. Make sure the tone is similar to your other in-memory giving pages, so there is nothing 'jarring' when they land on the page. Include an image of a funeral notice so supporters understand what you are offering (we can supply this for you), and clearly signpost to other useful resources, including your in-memory funds.
